Faith is not based on your senses, or on how you feel. It is not an emotion. Faith is not let me see, and then I will believe. You cannot live by your senses, emotions and feelings at the same time as faith. In the story in Matthew 8:23-27, we see the disciples experiencing these things. Even though they had the Savior right there in the boat with them, they were unsettled and fearful because they were operating by their senses, emotion and feelings.

Faith is based on the living Word of God. You have to surrender your feelings, senses and emotions and live by believing the Word of God. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT it says, “For we live by believing and not by seeing.” So, focus on what God’s Word say’s and not on your senses, feelings, and emotions.

You increase your faith by listening, reading, and acting on the Word of God. And when you do so your emotions, feelings, and senses will be subjected to the Word. In John 5:4 NLT says “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.” So as you can see, it is your faith that gives you the victory over your emotions, feelings, senses, and every other aspect of your life.

Remember, it is Faith that pleases God. So, if you do not have faith you cannot please God. The Lord Jesus teaches us that we must first believe and then we will see. Here are some final thoughts. Why is it that you believe in wind and electricity even though you cannot see it? But yet you cannot believe in God and His Word.

Now, if you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, then repeat this prayer and you will be saved and born again.

Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me of my sin. Wash me and cleanse me. Set me free. Jesus thank you that you died for me. I believe that you are raised from the dead and that you’re coming back again for me. I’m saved; I’m born again, I’m forgiven and I’m on my way to heaven because I have Jesus in my heart.
